Yes, Coinoscope is free to download and use for basic features like coin identification. The free version is supported by ads and includes up to 15 value estimation requests per day, which display listings from eBay and other marketplaces, and 15 advanced image analysis requests, which provides AI-generated coin descriptions along with a valuation. Upgrading to Coinoscope Pro removes ads, lifts these limits, and also adds cloud synchronization of your collection on Android.

What if Coinoscope “requires” me to subscribe, start a free trial, or enter credit card details?

Coinoscope is free to use with basic features, but you may see a popup asking you to upgrade to Coinoscope Pro. Be aware that some misleading ads pretend to be from Coinoscope and may ask for payment details. We actively block these ads, but a few can still appear. The only official way to purchase Pro is through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. In the app, you can view subscription and one-time payment options by tapping the Buy Pro icon at the top of the main screen.

How can I estimate the value of my coin?

To estimate your coin's value in Coinoscope, take or upload a clear photo of the coin and use the Estimate Value feature. The app will show current listings from eBay and other marketplaces, giving you an idea of the market price. You can also use Advanced Image Analysis feature, which provides AI-generated coin descriptions along with an approximate valuation.

The free version allows up to 15 requests per feature per day, while Coinoscope Pro provides unlimited access. Please note that all estimations are approximate and should not replace professional appraisal—consult a qualified coin dealer or valuation service for accurate results.

Why do Coinoscope results sometimes contain unrelated coins?

Coinoscope uses AI to compare your coin photo with images in its database and find the closest visual matches. If an exact match isn't available—for example, if that coin isn't in the database or there are only a few records—the app will still show the nearest results it can find. Some of these coins may look unrelated to you, but they share certain visual similarities—such as texture, font style, or design details—from the AI's perspective.

How can I cancel my Coinoscope subscription?

You can cancel your subscription through the app store where you purchased it.

On Android, open the Google Play Store, go to your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, select Coinoscope, and choose Cancel subscription.

On iOS, open Settings, tap your name, go to Subscriptions, select Coinoscope, and tap Cancel Subscription.

After cancellation, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period.
